Kumrovec

Kumrovec, 1972

Description:

Kumrovec is a village and a municipality in the same name in Krapinsko – Zagorska region in Croatia. It lies in border zone with Slovenia along the river Sotla. According to data from 2001 the municipality Kumrovec has 1854 citizens, the village only 304.

Kumrovec is the most known as a birth place of president of Yugoslavia Josip Broz Tito (1892-1980).

Tito`s birth house was build in 1860 as first brick house in Kumrovec, is since 1953 Museum Marshal Tito. In front of the house in his bronze statue, made by Antun Augustinc (1900-1979).
